Wonderful
Chopin Notes
Chopin
Mazurka Op. 24, No. 4
These
Chopin notes are not only beautiful, but also the correct answer
in our little test! This wonderful work starts quietly, but quickly
crescendos into a fortissimo dynamic marking in measures ten and
eleven.
Chopin
uses the relative major key of Db for much of his playful material
in this work. There’s also a magical sotto voce passage starting
in bar fifty-three (the pickup note is in bar fifty-two), which
eventually leads us into a new section of the work.
Decoys
The
Brahms
Waltz is a beautiful piece in the key of G# minor. The only descriptive
word in this composition is dolce (sweet or sweetly).
Schumann’s
Introduction in Papillons is only six bars in length. The first
piece is longer and has a charming melody, asked to be played dolce
(sweetly). However, the challenge in this piece is to keep things
elegant and effortless while executing the melody in octaves!
