The
Marvelous Mozart
Sonata in C Major
Mozart Sonata KV 545
(Second Movement)
This
Mozart
sonata in C major (the correct answer) finds its second movement
in the dominant key of G. KV 545 is still a very popular sonata
that incorporates an Alberti bass in all three of its movements.
However, this compositional technique is most common in this middle
andante movement (it’s almost constant).
Decoys
Beethoven’s
nostalgic and ornamented adagio grazioso movement from his Op. 31,
No. 1 piano sonata and Haydn’s Hob XVI: 50 slow movement round
out today’s decoy pieces. The former was written by Beethoven
around the time of his 1802 Heiligenstadt testament while the latter
work was composed by Haydn around the 1794-1795 mark.
