Music
Accessories
for Composers
I’m
a big fan of exploring a website that I like. However, maybe you’re
not! Maybe you feel a mammoth migraine coming on and you just want
a whole bunch of links on one page. Welcome to the web page that
dissolves oncoming headaches. All materials that you need to help
you compose are located at the bottom of this page.
Below
you will find a whole bunch of links that lead you to materials
that a composer needs in his or her library. Some of these materials
include:
•
recordings
from all genres and eras;
•
theory
and orchestration books;
•
instruments such as pianos
and keyboards;
•
music
history books;
•
hardware
and software that support composer’s needs.
•
metronomes,
manuscript paper, etc…
Not having proper resources is terribly unsatisfying
for a composer. I realize that the internet is a valuable source
of information, but it is still not a substitute for a good orchestration
book, or a grounded and well written theory book.
The
same holds true for history novels. A well researched and scholarly
novel, printed by a publisher with a reputable name, has invaluable
information. Online research can occasionally yield the same results,
but often you have to filter through many misinformed websites before
reaching a site that contains accurate historical facts.
