Surrounded by Sheet Music

“Which way do I turn? Everywhere I look there’s sheet music. How did we get to this stage? What does it all mean? What does it all mean? I'm feeling claustrophobic. I can't breath.” This is, of course, followed by uncontrollable sobbing.

There’s no need for panic attacks, crying or pessimism. We are at a stage in history where music is available at the touch of a button. There's no doom and gloom here.

By the way, here’s an interesting music fact with respect to classical and pop genres. Popular music concerts go back to the mid nineteenth century. They were simply concerts that included repertoire designed to attract a wider range of people. However, since the mid part of the twentieth century, popular music has become associated with music that is not 'classical' in nature. Different times often change the meanings of words!
