The Wonderment of
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Mozart
was born in Salzburg in 1756 and died in Vienna in 1791. This extraordinary
Austrian composer was also a keyboard
player, conductor, violinist and violist.
His
father, Leopold, wasted no time in starting his son’s musical
education. Wolfgang learned the klavier (clavier) from the age of
three, and composition from the age of five.
In
1764, Mozart took composition lessons in London from J.C. Bach.
It was around this time that Mozart wrote his first three symphonies.
Mozart
wrote so much music in so little time. He was not a revolutionary
composer in the way that Beethoven
was. His stood stands apart due to his melodic gifts, superior craftsmanship
and a wonderful sense of balance and form
that he constantly realized in his compositions.
An
Amazing Mozart Fact
No
one knows where Wolfgang is buried. He hadn’t saved enough
money for a proper burial for himself.
